Amarillo Reproductive Freedom Alliance (ARFA) is a volunteer-led and community-powered organization in the Texas Panhandle, united by our commitment to reproductive freedom. At ARFA, we believe in the power of community. Our work includes public education, de-stigmatizing conversation around abortion, and local organizing for policies that protect and expand reproductive rights. Together, we’re building a future where everyone has access to the care they need—no exceptions, no compromises.
Our Work on Sanctuary Cities for the Unborn
In 2024, we fought against the Sanctuary Cities for the Unborn (SCFTU) initiative—a dangerous ordinance that sought to control Amarilloans' personal decisions and infringe on our reproductive rights. This ordinance tried to impose unconstitutional restrictions on what residents could do, even outside city limits. While the battle against SCFTU has ended in Amarillo, the fight for justice continues. We remain dedicated to protecting reproductive access for everyone in our community and beyond, because no one should have to face these challenges alone.
